Take More Adventure Days.

My name is Ashlyn and I have the belief that we all need some adventure in our lives.

In 2012 I was a newly enrolled college student who was trying to find the perfect balance between the social expectations that are on 18 year olds, and the excitement of young adult freedom. I was struggling finding satisfaction in my days, as they were filled with work, commuting, and studying. I found myself in a rut, and craving a life beyond what I currently living.

Then late one night I was decorating my surfboard; and amongst the sharpied on palm trees and waves, I wrote the words “TAKE MORE ADVENTURE DAYS”. I was setting a reminder for myself to make the most out of my free time. Even if I could not afford a week away somewhere, I could enjoy my hour long breaks walking to somewhere I have not been yet. My life became focused on the intention of enjoying whatever free time I had.

I created an album on Facebook titled “Take More Adventure Days”, and started posting photos from my mini adventures. I had shots from surfing at the beach, riding my quad, to walking around my hometown. After some time, the phrase started to catch on with others. I had friends and family starting to tag me in their Adventure Days both big and small. I enjoyed reading their stories, and felt like the stories could help inspire others as well. thus the creation of this space.

This website is for you. For you to find purpose, inspiration, and acknowledgment for how truly amazing your life is. So please read through these stories, go on your adventures, and tell us your tales.
